Full-time diesel mechanic needed for growing, wholesale lumber treating facility and building products distributor in Cortland, New York. This hands on position will join our current team of four, full-time mechanics in our 10,000 square foot mechanic shop. Additionally, the position will help maintain a fleet of trucks, trailers, forklifts, passenger vehicles, and small engines. Responsibilities and Duties of a Diesel Mechanic Maintaining a fleet of diesel forklifts, from PM to full engine rebuilds. Maintaining a fleet of truck and flatbed trailers. Maintaining gas engines (passenger vehicles, small engines, etc). Ordering parts as needed. Performing inspections and road tests of completed repairs to ensure quality of repair and suitability of vehicle for return to service. Completing detailed PM Inspections and other paperwork. Maintaining brakes, wheels/tires, air and hydraulic systems. Using electronic testing equipment such as multi meters, volt amp testers and load testers. Performing all duties in a safe manner. Maintaining a professional manner and a neat and orderly working area.

Certifications preferred:
