Job Description
Overview Join our team as a Diesel Mechanic Fleet Technician and become a vital part of maintaining a robust fleet of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and service a wide range of diesel trucks, Tow Trucks and Landoll type trailers, ensuring optimal performance,safety and cost. Responsibilities Service our fleet with an eye on cost savings and efficiency . Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and other mechanical components of heavy equipment and vehicles. Preventive maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, and fluid replacements. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex systems. If able, fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding and hand tools to meet specific repair needs or project requirements. Operate heavy machinery safely during repairs or testing procedures while adhering to all safety protocols. Maintain detailed service records, and repair logs. Requirements Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment technician. Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems. Skilled in using diagnostic tools, schematics, power tools, welding equipment, and hand tools for repairs. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environmental conditions. Familiarity with heavy truck repair, maintenance, industrial equipment servicing, and vehicle systems diagnostics. Certification or training in diesel engine repair or heavy equipment mechanics is highly desirable. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL certification is a plus.
