Job Description

We are looking for a talented
  • Diesel Technician/Mechanic
  • to join our Distribution business in
  • Horseheads, NY.
  • You will make an impact in the following ways:
  • + Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop + Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools + Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles + Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies + Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products + Maintain own tools
  • To be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • + Completes complex internal engine repairs + Performs complex unassisted engine overhauls + Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools + Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components + Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation
  • Compensation and Benefits
  • Base salary rate commensurate with experience.   • Education, Licenses, Certifications:
  • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit (Preferred) This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Experience:
  • Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred) Valid NYS drivers license required with no restrictions.
  • This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Valid NYS drivers license required with no restrictions.

  • A current valid license is required for this role
  • Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
  • This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
