Job Description

As a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic at Clean Harbors, you will be part of a team dedicated to maintaining and repairing large diesel vehicles and equipment, essential for supporting environmental, energy, and industrial services. This role is crucial in ensuring that our machinery and vehicles perform reliably and safely, minimizing downtime and supporting our commitment to safeguarding the environment through responsible waste management and emergency response services. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repair on heavy diesel engines and equipment including trucks, trailers, and other heavy machinery. Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine the best ways to correct them, using the appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment. Follow all safety procedures and best practices, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Record detailed service and repair logs, and communicate ongoing issues with management. Collaborate with other team members to facilitate scheduled and emergency maintenance and repairs. Support fleet operational status by initiating and maintaining an inventory of parts and supplies. Stay current with industry technology and developments, and apply new skills to improve job performance. Required Skills In-depth knowledge of diesel engines and components. Skilled in the use of diagnostic software and equipment for mechanical and electronic systems. Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics. Strong problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail. Capable of performing physical tasks and lifting heavy objects.
