Job Description
Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and skilled Diesel Technician / Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered vehicles, equipment, and fork trucks. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to perform preventative maintenance and major component repairs while maintaining accurate service records. Key Responsibilities Perform inspections, diagnostics, and testing to determine vehicle condition and identify worn or damaged parts. Complete preventative maintenance services to maximize equipment reliability and availability. Repair, remove, install, adjust, overhaul, assemble, and replace major vehicle systems and components, including: Powertrains and drivetrains Electrical systems Air conditioning systems Fuel and emissions systems Brake and steering systems Hydraulic systems Ensure compliance with federal and state safety, emissions, and engine performance standards. Document all maintenance, repairs, and inspections accurately. Maintain and troubleshoot shop equipment and perform preventative maintenance as required. Manage parts and supply inventories, place orders, and verify deliveries. Utilize warranties and evaluate repair options to help control maintenance costs. Contribute to the success of the maintenance department by supporting additional projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Skills & Qualifications Experience working with diesel engines, heavy equipment, and fortrucks.
