Responsibilities:

Perform and/or assist in the performance of general mechanical repair.

Including but nor limited to:

fuel system, electrical system, transmissions, cooling system, wheel seals, fluid charges, chassis, brakes, engine tune-ups, body work, and general preventative maintenance. Maintains a neat and orderly working area. Performs trouble shooting on major problems. Performs general repair work on flatbed trailers and specialized trailers including brakes, wheels, lights, and decking. Follows safety practices and shop regulations. Advises the Leadman/shop Manager if additional repair work in needed

Qualifications:

• Preferably have at least one year of service technician experience with heavy duty trucks and trailers.
• Necessary basic tools to perform position responsibilities.
• Physical requirements include:
• Near and midrange vision, hearing
• Ability to work alone and under stress
• Walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting and reaching.
• Ability to lift and cary up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in seasonal heat and cold, amidst noise, dust, and fumes.
• CDL preferred but not required
• ability to move a semi in and out of shop.
