Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and industrial equipment. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems on heavy trucks, farm machinery, industrial equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy machinery. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, fluid checks, and component replacements to ensure optimal performance. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding equipment and hand tools to meet specific repair needs or project requirements. Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely during repairs or testing procedures. Maintain detailed service records including inspection reports, repair logs, parts used, and maintenance schedules for compliance and future reference. Collaborate with team members to ensure safety protocols are followed during all repair activities and participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry standards. Skills Proven experience working as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic in a dealership or industrial environment with strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines and vehicle systems. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics using modern scan tools and electrical testing devices. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of using power tools effectively. Knowledge of schematics for electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning), and transmissions. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while handling large components or equipment parts. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery for testing or repair purposes. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members or clients.
