Carl Bales Excavating is a excavation and paving company looking for an experienced Automotive & Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills and experience servicing diesel trucks, heavy equipment, and company vehicles. Job Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel trucks, dump trucks, trailers, and heavy construction equipment Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, transmissions, and suspension components Service and maintain excavators, loaders, skid steers, rollers, pavers, and other construction equipment Perform oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and scheduled maintenance Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and complete repairs efficiently Maintain accurate service and repair records Conduct equipment inspections and identify potential problems before they result in downtime Assist with emergency and field repairs when needed Keep the shop and work areas clean, organized, and safe Qualifications Previous experience as an automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanic Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy equipment Ability to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems Experience with construction equipment is a plus Welding and fabrication experience is a plus Must have your own basic hand tools Valid driver's license required Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs in a busy construction environment Dependable, safety-minded, and hardworking What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Full-time, year-round employment 401K Matching Paid time off Opportunities for advancement Stable work with an established excavation and paving company
