In this energetic role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of heavy-duty trucks, including tractor-trailers, construction equipment, and industrial machinery. Responsibilities Respond to roadside service calls for breakdowns and mechanical issues when needed Diagnose and repair diesel engines, trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment Perform emergency repairs including electrical, hydraulic, brake, and fuel systems Conduct routine maintenance and preventative service in the field and in shop Troubleshoot and repair wiring, air systems, and engine components Complete accurate service reports, work orders, and documentation Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding repair when necessary Maintain service truck inventory, and shop tools, and equipment Follow all safety procedures and DOT regulations Other duties assigned by manager Experience Proven experience as a diesel mechanic (road service experience preferred) Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, air brakes, and hydraulics Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not always required) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Basic computer or tablet skills for reporting and diagnostics
