Job Description The Production Manager is empowered to make decisions and take actions as required to meet daily and long-term goals and requirements. The Production Manager works under minimum supervision in a team environment to oversee production operations and plant personnel. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Supervises production operations in Furnace, Spray Dry and Shipping Assure appropriate resources are in place (raw materials, packaging materials, people, etc…) to meet production orders. Maintains quality control of production unit(s). Maintains safe working conditions and practices. Assures environmental control of facility as required by permits and regulations. Communicates problems, instructions, observations, and information to others as needed. Participates in plant-wide quality, HSES, and productivity initiatives. Supports, implements, and participates in
ISO 9001
2000 and RC14001 activities. Participates on Safety Committee. Participates in HSE activities (i.e., Toolbox meetings, Accident investigations, Near misses, etc.). Comply with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and requirements. Comply with company policies. Other duties as assigned or required. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years' experience in the chemical industry in a manufacturing environment 3years of supervisory/management experience with increasing responsibility 4-year college Degree in technical field and/or equivalent job experience preferred Familiarity with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) rules and regulations Familiarity with management systems such as ISO 9001 and RC14001 Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Sound analytical and problem-solving skills. Additional Information EHS Responsibilities Communicates, promotes and personally demonstrates Safety/Health (including PQP Principles) as #1 priority Participation in risk assessment audits as applicable Understand PQ Principles (PQP) and how they are implemented in the site organization, rules and procedures Completes HSE training requirements identified for the job in a timely manner PQ is an equal opportunity employer.
