Job Description

Keep Our Fleet Moving—Join Our Team! We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Yard Truck Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of yard trucks, and related equipment. The ideal candidate is experienced in diesel engine diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and mechanical repairs, with a commitment to safety, quality, and minimizing equipment downtime. Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered yard trucks and related equipment Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and scheduled inspections Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulic, electrical, and air systems Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues Complete repairs accurately and efficiently to minimize downtime Maintain accurate service records and work orders Ensure all equipment meets safety and regulatory standards Keep the shop clean, organized, and compliant with company safety policies Work closely with operations to prioritize repairs and keep equipment in service Qualifications Previous experience as a diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, or fleet technician Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicle systems Experience working on terminal tractors, yard trucks, or commercial vehicles is preferred Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems independently Familiarity with computerized diagnostic equipment Welding and fabrication experience is a plus Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certifications are preferred but not required Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a shop environment What We Offer Excellent hourly pay based on experience Overtime opportunities Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid vacation and holidays 401(k) with company match Company-provided uniforms and laundry service Our own parts department Clean shop with quality equipment and latest technology Why Join Us? Pay:
$70,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
