Transmissions Full Job Description Diesel Maintenance Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities:

This position consists of diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered equipment, including cranes, excavators, skid steers and heavy machinery. This includes inspecting systems, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting problems, and making necessary repairs or replacements. They also use diagnostic tools and software and may perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

• Identify and fix mechanical and electrical issues in diesel engines and related systems, such as transmissions, brakes, and steering.
• Perform routine checks, oil changes, fluid level checks, and other maintenance tasks to keep vehicles in good working order.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify potential problems, using diagnostic tools and test-driving vehicles to assess performance.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and vehicle information.
• Communicate with customers about repairs, maintenance needs, and estimated costs.
• Proficiently use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment for repairs and maintenance.
• Follow established safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain detailed records of all repairs and maintenance performed.
• Order necessary parts and maintain a parts inventory.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of diesel engine mechanics, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools.
• Stay up to date with advancements in diesel technology and repair techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience related to industrial troubleshooting, maintenance and repair experience on Diesel-powered equipment, heavy equipment, cranes, skid steers, excavators. (Bobcat, Caterpillar, Hyundai, Sennenboben etc.) Balances team and individual responsibilities. Able to build consensus. Works with integrity and ethically; Upholds organizational values. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Valid State Driver's License

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand; climb; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
