Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Technician/Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles. Duties Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems across various heavy equipment and vehicles. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and equipment inspections to ensure optimal performance. Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to accurately identify issues and execute precise repairs on farm machinery, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, and service trucks. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs or project requirements. Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment safely during maintenance or repair procedures. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies. Assist in equipment assembly or reassembly after repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety protocols. Qualifications Proven experience as a diesel technician or mechanic with experience preferred; strong background in heavy truck repair and automotive diagnostics required. Extensive mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems for vehicles and equipment. Proficiency with schematics reading and electrical system repair; familiarity with automotive electrical systems essential. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including soldering), and other mechanical repair tools. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces when necessary. Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators or cranes is highly desirable; certification in heavy equipment operation is a plus. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about repairs or maintenance needs to clients or team members.
