Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel-powered equipment and machinery. Your expertise will ensure that all vehicles and heavy equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably across various industries including construction, agriculture, and transportation. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes, and other heavy equipment components using schematics and specialized tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on construction machinery, farm equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance. Fabricate parts or modify existing components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques. Troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently by interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data to identify root causes. Complete inspections such as alignment checks, suspension assessments, tire service, brake repairs, HVAC systems servicing, and electrical diagnostics to uphold safety standards. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed and communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding repair status. Assist in heavy lifting operations and perform routine equipment maintenance to prevent future breakdowns. Requirements Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment including construction machinery maintenance and farm machinery servicing. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, schematics interpretation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems. Hands-on experience with diesel engine repair, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension systems, and wheel alignment. Skilled in welding, soldering, assembly work, and the use of hand tools and power tools for fabrication or repair tasks. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; familiarity with OEM parts is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation to support internal teams or clients effectively. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment such as excavators or forklifts when necessary.
