$32-$38/hour (based on experience) Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment. This position requires strong mechanical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to quality workmanship and safety. Key Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on diesel trucks and equipment. Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake service, tire replacement, and preventive inspections. Repair and replace engines, transmissions, differentials, fuel systems, and other components. Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and troubleshoot equipment problems. Complete work orders accurately and maintain service records. Conduct DOT inspections and ensure vehicles meet safety standards. Test-drive equipment as needed to verify repairs. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Communicate effectively with supervisors, service advisors, and customers regarding repair needs and timelines. QualificationsRequired Minimum of 2 years of diesel mechanic experience. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, and hydraulics. Ability to diagnose and repair a variety of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. Own basic mechanic tools. Valid driver's license. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a shop environment. Preferred ASE certifications or equivalent technical certifications. CDL (Commercial Driver's License). Experience with heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and fleet maintenance. Welding and fabrication experience. Skills Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Attention to detail and commitment to quality repairs. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
