Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and post-repair checks on various equipment, including jockey trucks, over-the-road trucks, trailers, forklifts, and automobiles. Read job orders and technical service bulletins to determine work procedures for repairs and maintenance. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine systems to ensure optimal vehicle performance. Inspect, adjust, and repair air brake systems and other safety devices to maintain operational safety standards. Perform preventive maintenance tasks on all vehicles and equipment. Align wheels, change tires, and replace or repair vehicle components, including headlights, wipers, seats, and more. Keep detailed service records, documenting parts used, work performed, and hours worked. Test drive repaired vehicles to ensure everything is functioning properly.
Qualifications:
Basic experience or knowledge in vehicle maintenance. Diesel and heavy truck experience is a plus. Willingness to learn—on-the-job training is available for those eager to expand their skills. Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check and drug screen. Ability to obtain a TWIC card. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Computer knowledge is a plus.
