Overview Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including trucks, construction machinery, and industrial vehicles. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical expertise in a fast-paced environment, ensuring equipment operates at peak performance. You will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting preventative maintenance on diesel engines and associated systems. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, suspension systems, and air brake systems using OEM schematics and service manuals. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, alignment checks, and fluid replacements to keep equipment running smoothly. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs. Repair and maintain heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and other industrial equipment. Use electrical testing tools to troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs on automotive diagnostics systems. Operate heavy equipment safely during repair or testing procedures while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed and parts used; ensure compliance with safety standards and quality control procedures. Requirements Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair; dealership experience is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals; familiarity with OEM parts and specifications. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other fabrication tools. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment when necessary during repair processes. Experience with automotive diagnostics software and electrical troubleshooting techniques. Knowledge of hydraulics, HVAC systems in vehicles/equipment, suspension systems, brake repair including air brake systems, and alignment procedures. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about repairs or maintenance needs. Valid certifications in diesel engine repair or automotive repair are advantageous; relevant certifications in welding or heavy equipment operation are a plus. Pay:
$21.00 - $28.00 per hour
