POSITION SUMMARY

: You will perform preventive maintenance and repair of heavy duty vehicle fleet and related equipment. You will make sure that the equipment is safe and well maintained as they play a major function in handling operations. This position opening is on a night shift. Night shift will earn an additional $2/hour for a shift premium.

RESPONSIBILITIES

: As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you must be able to : Ensure preventive maintenance of our heavy duty vehicle fleet and related equipment: small and big forklift, service/ tow trucks, scissorlift, genie-boom and small engines Troubleshoot and fix problems of all kinds Adjust, replace, fix various parts of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems Maintain engine operations Inform the Maintenance supervisor of the engines status Recondition engines, transmissions, big/ small forklift mast, etc Read and understand the maintenance and repairs manuals Must be able to safely load, unload or handle hazardous materials, including paint waste and used oil, while following safety procedures. All safety training relating to hazardous materials handling must be completed prior to engaging in these activities. Perform others duties as assigned (welding, cutting, lubricating, etc)
