Job Summary:
The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. This includes conducting regular inspections, diagnosing mechanical issues, and performing repairs or replacements of components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and exhaust systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of diesel engines and related systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in diesel engines, transmissions, fuel systems, electrical systems, and other related components. Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake inspections, tire rotations, and fluid checks. Inspect and troubleshoot engines and other vehicle systems to identify and resolve issues. Replace defective parts, such as pumps, belts, filters, and electrical components. Perform engine rebuilds, replacements, and modifications when necessary. Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed on vehicles and equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. Provide technical support and advice to customers or team members regarding diesel engine operations and maintenance. Stay up to date on industry trends, tools, technologies, and best practices related to diesel mechanics. Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and optimal performance of all equipment. Test vehicles and equipment post-repair to ensure proper operation.
