The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment. This role is crucial for maintaining the performance and safety of our fleet, ensuring that all vehicles are in optimal working condition. Duties Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including diagnostics and troubleshooting. Conduct inspections and repairs on various types of heavy equipment, such as excavators, cranes, and farm machinery. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and fabrication tasks. Work with automotive diagnostics to identify issues related to transmissions, air brakes, alignment, hydraulics, suspension, HVAC systems, and more. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work performed on vehicles and equipment. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair needs and timelines. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols. Experience Previous mechanic experience is required; dealership experience is a plus. Proficiency in diesel engine repair and vehicle maintenance. Familiarity with schematics related to electrical systems and mechanical components. Experience operating heavy equipment such as tractor-trailers and forklifts. Knowledge of automotive repair techniques including brake repair, shocks & struts, assembly, and tire service. Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed during repairs. Experience with soldering and electrical systems is advantageous. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with a commitment to safety standards.
