GFL Environmental is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of trucks and heavy equipment supporting essential environmental services. You will perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems, ensuring safe, reliable operations. Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks and heavy equipment Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections per schedule Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, brake, and electrical systems Use diagnostic software, tools, and manuals to identify issues Maintain accurate records in the maintenance management system Ensure compliance with DOT, safety, and environmental regulations Collaborate with operations staff to minimize equipment downtime Respond to road calls and emergency repairs as needed Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop and work area Participate in ongoing training and support junior technicians Required Skills Diesel engine diagnostics Hydraulic systems repair Electrical systems troubleshooting Brake and suspension repair Preventive maintenance inspections (PMI) Use of diagnostic software and tools Reading technical manuals and schematics Welding and fabrication basics DOT and safety compliance knowledge Recordkeeping in maintenance systems (CMMS)
