Job Description

Diesel Mechanic - Heavy Duty Vehicles (Bus Experience a Plus)
Responsibilities:
Support a team of diesel mechanics in daily maintenance and repair operations Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty diesel vehicles, including transit and coach buses Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and drivetrain issues Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and DOT regulations Assist with training and mentoring junior technicians Coordinate with parts and service managers to ensure timely job completion Maintain accurate service records and documentation Provide high-level customer service by communicating clearly with clients and internal teams
Requirements:
Proven experience as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic, ideally in a leadership or senior role Strong knowledge of diesel engines, air brakes, electrical systems, and aftertreatment systems Bus experience is preferred but not required—will train the right candidate with heavy truck or equipment background Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagnostic tools Welding and fabrication experience a plus Must be physically capable of lifting heavy components and working in shop or field environments Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

$1,600.00 - $2,000.00 per week
