Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Mobile Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment and vehicles in the field. Your expertise will ensure that our fleet operates efficiently, safely, and reliably across various job sites. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, including trucks, excavators, cranes, and farm equipment, while providing top-tier service to keep operations moving seamlessly. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical components using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and air brake system inspections to maximize equipment lifespan. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to address unique repair needs. Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery safely and efficiently during maintenance or troubleshooting procedures. Interpret technical schematics and mechanical diagrams to identify issues accurately and implement effective repair solutions. Assist with vehicle alignment, wheel balancing, and suspension adjustments to ensure optimal performance. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and offering preventative maintenance advice to clients or operators. Qualifications Proven experience working as a diesel mechanic with dealership or heavy equipment experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC systems for vehicles and machinery. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and diagnostic software for automotive electrical systems. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues. Experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts or farm machinery is highly desirable. Knowledge of automotive diagnostics tools and vehicle maintenance procedures for trucks and industrial equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to safety standards and quality assurance. Ability to lift heavy components safely during repairs and perform heavy lifting tasks regularly throughout the workday.
