ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical defects in motorized equipment. Makes emergency repairs in the field. Performs general overhaul of motors, clutches, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, pumps, and brakes as required. Crawl under and climb on vehicles for repairs and inspections. Deliver vehicles. Work both indoors and outdoors including adverse weather conditions such as extreme cold, heat, and temperature swings. Account for labor and materials charged to departments on work orders, Display good decision-making ability. Read written or follow oral instructions. Must have own tools.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is medium which requires exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: Lift, carry, and hold up to 100 lbs. of office supplies and drafting equipment. Kneel, sit, squat, stand, stoop, and twist while performing drafting and filing duties.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe work place practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations, and traffic signals when driving. Works indoors and outdoors including adverse weather conditions such as extreme cold, heat, heights, temperature swings and noise, and some exposure to fume/odor and chemical hazards.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK
High School diploma or equivalent. Valid Texas Driver s License, Class C required, with the ability to obtain a Class BCDL within 6 months of employment. Five years experience in the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of motorized equipment. Uses good judgment to work safely and use equipment properly and supports the Safety Program.
