1st Shift Job overview: Provide general, non-diagnostic mechanical assistance to diesel technicians in Wilmer, TX. Handle routine maintenance on trucks and trailers. Perform non-technical tasks, such as parts stocking, inventory counting and parts pick-ups.
Responsibilities:
Assist higher skilled technicians on tractor and trailer repairs. Replace lights, tires, fuel filters, air filters, mud flaps and mud flap brackets. Perform routine cleaning of the shop and equipment. Use a computer to create, track and complete work orders. Maintain and stock parts inventory. Use a forklift and company vehicles to pick up, unload and stock parts. Communicate with internal customers, including other shop associates, drivers and operations leaders on repairs stances.
Skills and qualifications:
Associate degree in diesel technology or a related field. Valid driver's license and meet Schneider's DMV record standards. Computer systems experience. Able to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.
