2988839143-2 Apply for this job now Job Description GFL Environmental is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Mechanic to keep our waste and recycling trucks operating safely and reliably. In this on-site role, you'll perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel trucks, hydraulic systems, and related equipment. You'll troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, complete work orders, and follow strict safety and environmental procedures. Working in a fast-paced, team-focused shop, you'll help ensure uninterrupted essential services to our communities while building a stable, long-term career in a growing environmental company. Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks and fleet equipment Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize downtime Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems Complete accurate work orders and maintenance records Follow safety, environmental, and OSHA regulations and procedures Collaborate with drivers and operations to prioritize repairs Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues Order or request parts and materials as needed Support emergency or after-hours repairs as required Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment Required Skills Diesel engine diagnostics and repair Hydraulic systems maintenance Brake and suspension repair Electrical and wiring troubleshooting Preventive maintenance (PM) programs Use of diagnostic software and tools Welding and fabrication basics Reading technical manuals and schematics CMMS or maintenance work order systems Safety and OSHA compliance
