American Equipment HR LLC (AmQuip Crane Rental) is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to service and repair diesel engines and hydraulic systems on cranes and heavy construction equipment in the field. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, performing preventative maintenance, completing safety inspections, and documenting all work performed. You'll travel to customer and job sites, collaborate with operators and field teams, and uphold AmQuip's high standards for safety, reliability, and professionalism while supporting complex lifting projects. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems on cranes and heavy equipment in the field Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and safety inspections on fleet and rental equipment Respond to service calls at customer locations and construction sites using company service vehicles Document all work performed, parts used, and findings in service reports and maintenance systems Collaborate with operators, dispatch, and project teams to minimize downtime and support project schedules Adhere to all company and OSHA safety standards, including proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout procedures Assist with pre-lift equipment checks and readiness for critical crane and lifting operations Maintain tools, service truck, and work areas in clean, safe, and service-ready condition Required Skills Diesel engine diagnostics Hydraulic systems repair Heavy equipment maintenance Electrical troubleshooting Cranes and lifting equipment systems Preventive maintenance planning Use of diagnostic tools and software Reading technical manuals and schematics Field service and mobile repair Safety and OSHA compliance
