Diesel Mechanic DuraFleet Chesapeake, VA Job Details Full-time $25 - $45 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Diesel engine system repair Fabrication Customer communication Automotive electrical system repair Vehicle mechanics for truck drivers Customer service Diesel mechanics Electrical work Automotive air conditioning repair Suspension Diesel truck repair Vehicle transmission system repair Electrical maintenance Air brake Hydraulics Engine maintenance Air conditioning Diesel engine diagnostics Full Job Description DuraFleet is looking to hire a Full Time Diesel/ Fleet Mechanic for our commercial mobile and in shop repair business. •Must have extensive diesel experience as well as worked on trailers and equipment• The Mechanic is responsible for performing a wide range of electrical/mechanical diagnostics and repairs on a variety of gas/ diesel trucks and equipment (chassis/ trailers), all from his/her company provided service truck, or in shop. DuraFleet provides a convenient, cost-effective and comprehensive service for fleet managers and small business owners. At DuraFleet , we perform maintenance on trucks, trailers, and equipment at client locations as well as at our shop for their convenience. We also provide emergency roadside assistance for tractor trailers.
JOB DUTIES
Potentially drive a mobile mechanic truck to site of breakdown or begin work on assigned repair job at the customer location. Efficiently and accurately perform a pre-inspection and diagnose mechanical problems. Provide friendly, professional, and thorough communication with customers at all times. Communicate with the owner which parts are needed from inventory or for a parts order. Clearly communicate with the owner when additional services are required by the customer. Perform repairs in a professional, thorough, timely manner. Thoroughly and clearly document the specifics of each completed job on the repair order. Perform all other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Five (5) years of experience working on diesel trucks, equipment, and trailers. Gas experience desirable. Maintenance and repair experience must include the following areas - diesel, gas, engine, transmission, air conditioning, electrical, air brakes, suspension, cooling, hydraulics and more. Demonstrate strong ability to troubleshoot. Ability to read and interpret written information; and write clearly, accurately and concisely. Have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must possess your own tools.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
More than ten (10) years of experience working on trucks, equipment, and trailers Previous welding and fabrication experience and skills Possess a CDL (commercial driver's license)
