Job Description
GFL Environmental is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to keep our waste and recycling fleet safe, reliable, and on the road. In this on-site role, you will diagnose and repair diesel trucks and equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, brake, and suspension systems. You'll work in a safety-first, team-focused shop, supporting essential environmental services in your community. Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks and related equipment Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, brake, and suspension systems Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to identify faults Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant shop environment Collaborate with drivers and operations to minimize downtime Follow all company, DOT, and safety regulations Required Skills Diesel engine repair Heavy truck maintenance Hydraulic systems troubleshooting Brake and suspension systems Electrical diagnostics Preventive maintenance inspections Use of diagnostic tools and software Welding and fabrication basics Safety and OSHA compliance Maintenance documentation
