Job Description
Diesel Mechanic/ Industrial Maintenance Overview The Mechanic/Maintenance position will maintain all vehicles, facilities and plant including, but not limited to: the truck fleet, auxiliary vehicles and lift trucks. Responsibilities A combination of the following skills and/or basic understanding the following skills: plumbing, electrical, welding, carpentry, interior/exterior, refrigeration Ability to understand a wiring diagram and have experience with diagnostics Ensure all vehicles are operable and safe condition throughout the year Preform weekly oil checks Utilize Cummins INSITE diagnostics Refer maintenance Conduct all routine scheduled maintenance as outlined by the manufacturer Perform emergency repairs to all vehicles as required Ensure all maintenance records are prepared and logged for each vehicle Perform the following truck maintenance: brakes, lubrication, transmission, engine repairs Complete any required repairs to liftgate operation Execute truck body repairs as needed Manage inventory for mechanical items to ensure proper operating conditions Maintain and repair all hand and powered lifts Maintain and repair all ice making and bagging equipment Communicates daily with plant management to ensure all trucks are in ready condition and identify any issues. Review the Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR), as submitted from each driver, daily for any mechanical issues noted for that vehicle. Any safety-sensitive mechanical issue is to be repaired immediately and signed as corrected and submitted to the office secretary Minimum Qualifications Ability to perform routine truck maintenance - brake, lubrication, transmission, engine repairs Attention to detail Organization, communication, reliability
