POSITION SUMMARY
After training and with general supervision, investigates and handles all service-related requests of the customer including diagnosis and correction of any problem relating to gas-consuming equipment and controls, except on complicated heating, cooling, and industrial equipment.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Checks, adjusts, and repairs all gas control systems and related electrical components. 2. Adjusts, repairs, and cleans all types of gas-consuming equipment. 3. Installs all parts on all appliances and interchanges parts, where necessary. 4. Investigates and makes safe any type of leak complaint. 5. Makes whatever written reports are required in performance of assigned job. 6. Assists in on-the-job training of lower classification service technicians. 7. Works closely with other departments and provides whatever assistance is necessary. 8. Performs all and any duties of the lower Service Department classifications as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must have met the qualifications of Service C-2 and, in addition: 2. Must maintain an acceptable personal appearance and an acceptable level of job knowledge and performance. 3. Must display knowledge of safety procedures and rules of the Company. 4. Must have the ability to make written, legible, and accurate reports of all services performed on the customer's premises.
