A Field Service Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and providing technical support for equipment or machinery at customer sites. They typically work directly with customers, troubleshooting problems, performing repairs, and ensuring that the equipment operates efficiently. They may work across various industries, such as telecommunications, manufacturing, healthcare, or IT, depending on the nature of the equipment they specialize in.
Norwix Inc. is seeking a motivated and responsible entry-level Field Application Engineer (FAE) to join our technical team. You'll be the crucial link between our innovative printing technology and our global customers, ensuring smooth integration and providing world-class support for industrial printing applications across mailing, graphics, and packaging markets.
Key Responsibilities Customer Technical Support:
Act as the first line of contact for all customer support inquiries related to Norwix products. You'll take full ownership of issues, from initial contact through to successful resolution.
System Integration:
Provide exceptional technical support to assist customers with the integration and implementation of Norwix printing technologies into their machinery (e.g., printing and packaging equipment).
Training & Education:
Conduct onsite and offsite technical training for customers on Norwix products, including leading quarterly classroom-style training events at our headquarters.
Product Improvement:
Collaborate with our engineering team to define and implement new customer features and products, which may involve software, hardware, and mechanical modifications.
Requirements Technical Proficiency:
Must be able to set up, operate, and troubleshoot complex electronic hardware and software on custom industrial machinery.
Communication Skills:
Capable of writing, presenting, and following detailed technical procedures and developing comprehensive training materials.
Documentation:
Familiarity with electrical hardware and software documentation and instruction manuals.
Education:
A 2-year technical degree is required; a 4-year degree is strongly preferred.
Travel:
Willingness and ability to travel abroad, requiring a valid US passport.
Interpersonal Skills:
Strong ability to work effectively with customers in difficult technical situations.
Experience or knowledge of digital printing, packaging, or related industrial disciplines.
Prior Experience:
Previous experience in technical product applications or customer engineering support.
Presentation Experience:
Experience in developing and delivering technical training courses.
