Field Service Engineer We are looking for a hands-on Installation Technician who wants to build a long-term career in building systems and controls. This is a great opportunity for someone with construction, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, facilities, appliance repair, or similar field experience who enjoys working with tools and wants to develop a more specialized technical skill set. Prior building automation or controls experience is helpful, but it is not required. We are looking for someone dependable, mechanically inclined, comfortable working on active job sites, and motivated to learn. The Role This position is primarily field-based, with approximately 85% of the work taking place at customer and construction sites. An immediate priority will be supporting a new construction project that includes installing non-metallic/PVC conduit within the building foundation and assisting with the installation of building control systems. Over time, this position offers the opportunity to develop deeper skills in building automation, controls, electrical systems, system installation, troubleshooting, and field service. Responsibilities Install PVC/non-metallic conduit and related materials on active construction projects Assist with the installation and wiring of building control systems Use hand and power tools safely and effectively Follow construction plans, schematics, and installation instructions Complete installation work neatly and accurately Assist with system retrofits, additions, and equipment replacement Document field changes and installation discrepancies Work independently in the field while communicating effectively with project and engineering teams Develop knowledge of electrical circuits, relays, controls, and building automation systems What We're Looking For Hands-on construction, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, facilities, appliance repair, or similar field experience Comfortable working on active construction sites and performing physical, hands-on work Experience using hand and power tools; familiarity with a multimeter is a plus Reliable and able to work independently with limited supervision Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow plans and specifications Mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning technical systems Ability to read plans, wiring diagrams, or schematics is helpful Electrical, HVAC, controls, or building automation experience is a plus, but not required Candidates from adjacent technical trades, including appliance repair, may be a strong fit if they bring hands-on troubleshooting skills and electrical or mechanical aptitude Basic computer skills for email, files, and documentation Most importantly, we are looking for someone who wants to build a career. The ideal candidate is dependable, takes pride in their work, is comfortable getting their hands dirty, and is interested in developing increasingly technical skills in building automation and controls. Location and Travel This is an approximately 85% field-based position. The office is located in Lebanon, New Jersey, and an immediate project is located in the Asbury, New Jersey area. Candidates located between these areas or within a reasonable commuting distance are especially well positioned. Most work is performed during standard working hours, with employees typically returning home each evening. Overnight travel is uncommon, and weekend work is rare. A company vehicle is provided and may be taken home. Fuel and toll expenses associated with company travel are covered. Why Consider This Opportunity?
