Full Job Description Job Duties:
Install, commission, and support complex automated equipment at customer facilities, ensuring full system functionality upon deployment. Respond to customer technical support inquiries via phone or in-person visits; troubleshoot and resolve issues involving complex mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems. Diagnose root causes of failures across complex integrated systems, including programmable controllers, end-of-arm tools, part aligners, and wafer mapping stations. Perform system maintenance and repairs, including software installation, mechanical adjustments, and component replacement. Prepare and maintain comprehensive service documentation, including service reports, repair records, RMA closures, and test data checklists. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement design improvements, resolve recurring system issues, and support internal system builds as needed. Conduct technical training sessions for both internal staff and external customers; conducts insulation (isolation) training; develop and maintain training materials and procedural documentation. Identify and coordinate procurement of spare parts; assist Sales team in preparing repair cost estimates and customer quotes. Ensure all activities meet company quality standards and comply with applicable safety regulations and operational protocols. Travel domestically and internationally to perform field service activities and provide on-site customer support as required.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience:
6 months of post-baccalaureate experience in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Work Location and Travel:
This is a home-based/remote position in Beaverton, OR. The employee will work from a home office when not providing onsite technical support. The position requires frequent travel to client sites within the Portland, OR / Vancouver, WA metropolitan client service area as assigned. The employee must reside within 60 miles of Beaverton/Hillsboro, Oregon. Approximately 50% domestic travel and approximately 25% international travel, depending on the employer's business needs.
