We provide an online community of care that connects, coordinates and tracks all those who are involved in the correctional/rehabilitative life cycle, including those with the most stake (the justice involved youth or adult, him/herself). Our technology seeks to empower all involved to assess, assign and encourage completion of treatment plans that will improve success in the community. Job Overview Vant4ge is looking for a capable, self-directed field engineer to support infrastructure assessments, technical deployments, and client-facing work across the United States. This is a hands-on role for someone who can walk into an unfamiliar environment, figure out how it works, and execute without needing step-by-step direction. You'll be assessing IT infrastructure, installing systems, and producing clear, usable documentation that others can rely on. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure Assessment Conduct on-site assessments of client IT environments Evaluate network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, switching, routing, and wireless Review physical infrastructure such as power, UPS systems, cabling, and rack conditions Assess security posture, segmentation, and system dependencies Identify risks, capacity issues, and single points of failure Perform network testing including latency, throughput, and packet loss Collect structured data, notes, and photo documentation Deployment and Implementation Install and configure Vant4ge solutions in client environments Perform hardware installation including rack and stack, cabling, and power Integrate systems into existing networks Validate performance and stability after deployment Troubleshoot issues on-site as they arise Field Operations and Technical Support Perform site surveys and pre-deployment validation Act as the on-site technical resource when working with remote teams Work through environments that may be poorly documented or inconsistent Adapt to a wide range of site conditions, including remote and secure facilities Client-Facing Engagements Represent Vant4ge at client sites and industry events Support demos and technical conversations Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Documentation and Reporting This role requires strong documentation skills. You will be expected to produce clear, structured, and detailed records of all field work. Document infrastructure configurations, findings, and observations Record test results and performance data accurately Produce documentation that can be used for analysis, reporting, and decision-making Ensure all work is captured in a way that is complete, organized, and easy for others to understand Documentation quality is critical. The output of your work will be used by leadership and clients to make decisions. Required Skills and Background Strong working knowledge of networking, including routing, switching, and troubleshooting Familiarity with wireless networking concepts and performance considerations Experience with core services such as Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP Hands-on experience installing and working with hardware in real environments Ability to assess both network and physical infrastructure conditions Comfortable working independently without detailed instructions How You Work You can walk into an unfamiliar environment and figure out what's going on You don't rely on escalation as a first step You pay attention to detail and document your work clearly You're comfortable switching between assessment, installation, and troubleshooting You can interact professionally with clients and represent the company well Logistics and Requirements Must live within approximately two hours of a major commercial airport with frequent domestic flights to support travel between states Willing to travel approximately 35% of the time, including to remote locations Valid driver's license Able to lift and install equipment as needed Security and Compliance Must be eligible to pass a CJIS background check, including FBI fingerprint-based screening Comfortable working in correctional facilities and other secure environments Preferred Background Experience with infrastructure assessments or technical audits Experience working in government or regulated environments Familiarity with remote connectivity solutions such as satellite or LTE Experience working across multiple sites or distributed environments What Success Looks Like You can enter a site with little or no documentation and produce a clear understanding of the environment You complete installations cleanly and without unnecessary back-and-forth Your documentation is accurate, organized, and usable by others Clients trust you to represent Vant4ge and handle situations professionally We highly value Passion for and responsibility to the customer/partner Must be self-starting, hardworking and inquisitive Leadership through innovation in everything you do Passion for what you do and being self-critical to improve Relentless commitment to win Personal and corporate integrity
