- 65/hour, based on experience About the Opportunity We're hiring on behalf of an established manufacturer of precision CNC machine tools for a Field Service Technician to support customers throughout the Southern California territory.
This is a direct-hire, field-based role for someone who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, travel, and working independently at customer sites. Whether you're a technician with a few years of CNC field service experience or a seasoned pro with over a decade in the field, we want to hear from you — we have room for both Field Service Technician II and Senior Field Service Technician candidates. What You'll Do Provide on-site service, installation, repair, and preventive maintenance on CNC machinery at customer locations Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic malfunctions on CNC equipment, including Siemens and FANUC controls Perform installs, repairs, inspections, and setups on machinery with minimal supervision Dismantle, repair, adjust, and test mechanical components, hydraulic/pneumatic/coolant systems, and electrical/electronic parts to manufacturer standards Provide remote technical support via phone, email, and tele-service when needed Maintain accurate service documentation, submit paperwork and expenses on a weekly basis, and provide regular status updates Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and adhere to all customer and company safety requirements Represent the company with professionalism and integrity at every customer site What We're Looking For Field Service Technician II (~3-5 years of experience) Strong mechanical aptitude and electrical troubleshooting skills Able to perform field service with minimal supervision Comfortable troubleshooting CNC equipment in the field Senior Field Service Technician (~10-15 years of experience) Plug-and-play candidate outside of product-specific training Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting background Excellent customer-facing and communication skills Self-motivated, works independently, represents the company well onsite All candidates should have: Associate's degree (or equivalent) in electronics, hydraulics, or a related mechanical field, and 5+ years of related experience — or an equivalent combination of education and experience Prior experience in a manufacturing environment where field service was essential to operations Hands-on experience with CNC machine service, Siemens controls, and/or FANUC controls Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the Southern California territory Strong customer service skills and a professional, self-driven attitude Preferred backgrounds: candidates with experience at companies such as HERCO or Heller are a strong fit. Physical Requirements Regularly requires sitting, use of hands, and reaching; frequently requires standing and walking; occasionally requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or lifting/moving up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, plus the ability to adjust focus. Travel Extensive travel throughout the assigned Southern California territory is required. Candidates should be comfortable working and traveling independently.
