Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician for a well-established construction equipment company in Commerce City. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining construction equipment at customer locations. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and diagnostic abilities and experience working with heavy machinery. Equipment Repair:
Diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of construction equipment at customer job sites.Field Service:
Travel to customer locations and construction sites to perform equipment repairs and scheduled maintenance.Equipment Assembly:
Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble construction equipment according to manufacturer specifications.Technical Procedures:
Follow service manuals and established procedures while selecting the appropriate tools for each repair.Parts Inspection:
Measure and inspect parts and components to determine whether they can be reused or must be replaced.Parts Ordering:
Identify and order replacement parts while assisting with the overall parts-ordering process.Diagnostics:
Use available testing and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot systems and make necessary adjustments.Warranty Administration:
Make warranty recommendations, prepare required reports, and process warranty work orders.Fabrication and Electrical Repair:
Perform minor welding, fabrication, plumbing alignment, and DC electrical repairs.Team Support:
Guide and supervise other employees involved in machinery and equipment repairs when needed.Work Order Management:
Open and close work orders, obtain customer purchase orders, and process revenue-generating field service work orders.Customer Communication:
Accept service calls and keep customers informed about job status, repair progress, delays, and potential problems.Documentation:
Complete accurate and timely service reports in English.Safety and Housekeeping:
Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace and service truck.Special Projects:
Complete special assignments and assist the Service Manager with additional tasks as needed.Job Qualifications:
Driver's License:
Class A commercial driver's license required.Mechanical Experience:
Previous experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining construction equipment or comparable heavy machinery.Technical Knowledge:
Ability to read service manuals, work tickets, parts books, and technical specifications.Diagnostic Skills:
Ability to use testing equipment, diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively.Computer Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience with other Microsoft Office programs is helpful.Office Equipment:
Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, copiers, and fax machines.Communication:
Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Leadership:
Ability to guide or supervise others during equipment repairs when necessary.Customer Service:
Ability to communicate professionally with customers and provide timely updates throughout the repair process.Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Ability to walk across uneven terrain, including construction and equipment sites. Ability to lift more than 50 pounds frequently. Ability to operate heavy equipment, hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Ability to grasp, handle, raise, and lower equipment parts and tools. Ability to reach, bend, kneel, and work in various physical positions. Ability to stand for extended periods while performing repairs and maintenance. Ability to climb in and out of construction equipment. Ability to sit in equipment and service vehicles for extended periods. Ability to lie underneath vehicles and equipment while completing repairs. Ability to hear mechanical issues and communicate effectively by radio, phone, and in person.
