(LTS) is seeking a T-1 Labor Grade Technician to support nondestructive testing, leak testing, equipment readiness, and field-service execution for nuclear, aerospace, space, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, industrial, and other regulated customers. This role is intended for early-career candidates with mechanical aptitude, hands-on technical training, military experience, trade-school preparation, or demonstrated potential to develop into a qualified field technician. This is a developmental role. A degree, certificate, prior job title, or completed course does not independently authorize an employee to perform inspection or testing work. Readiness is established through documented training, supervised on-the-job experience, practical demonstrations, written or oral examinations where required, mentor/evaluator sign-off, and formal authorization by LTS Quality, Training, or technical leadership. Responsibilities Field and Technical Support
  • Assist qualified technicians and supervisors with field preparation, equipment setup, test-fixture assembly, hose and tubing connections, pressure and vacuum system preparation, instrument handling, and controlled work execution.
  • Support leak testing, pressure/vacuum testing, visual inspection, penetrant testing, bubble testing, pressure-change measurement, helium mass spectrometer leak testing, or related activities only when assigned, supervised, and authorized.
  • Read and follow approved procedures, work instructions, drawings, checklists, job packets, customer requirements, and safety controls without unauthorized improvisation.
  • Perform basic mechanical assembly, cleaning, staging, labeling, measuring, troubleshooting, and housekeeping tasks within assigned training and authority.
  • Ask questions and stop work when instructions, acceptance criteria, equipment condition, calibration status, safety controls, or authorization are unclear. Equipment, Materials, and Readiness
  • Assist with field-kit preparation, equipment custody, inventory control, packing, shipping, receiving, and return processing.
  • Verify that equipment identification, accessories, protective cases, required records, and documented calibration status are present before use or dispatch; place questionable items on hold and notify the responsible supervisor or Quality representative.
  • Handle calibrated instruments, test equipment, customer property, consumables, and controlled materials carefully to prevent damage, contamination, loss, or unauthorized use.
  • Complete pre-use checks and report damaged, incomplete, malfunctioning, overdue, or improperly documented equipment. Documentation and Quality Support
  • Prepare field notes, equipment logs, training records, time records, checklists, photographs, test data, and other assigned job documentation.
  • Support report preparation, evidence-pack assembly, document review, and project closeout under supervision.
  • Maintain traceability of assigned equipment, materials, work steps, and records in approved company systems and controlled files.
  • Report errors, nonconforming conditions, unexpected results, damaged customer property, or procedural concerns promptly and factually. Safety, Conduct, and Customer-Site Readiness
  • Comply with LTS safety requirements, PPE rules, fitness-for-duty expectations, security controls, customer-site requirements, and applicable OSHA standards.
  • Use Stop Work authority when safety, quality, procedure, equipment, environmental, security, or readiness conditions are inadequate.
  • Maintain professional conduct with customers, coworkers, vendors, and other site personnel.
  • Work safely around pressure systems, vacuum equipment, industrial machinery, ladders, lifts, confined or restricted work areas, and field equipment only after required training and authorization.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as business needs require, including extended assignments, irregular schedules, weekends, nights, and outage or project-based work.
