Basic Concepts, Inc, is the world leader in portable spill containment systems. In Plant City, FL, we are seeking a Traveling Field Service Technician. A successful applicant should be hardworking, self-starting, reliable and have good communication and organizational skills. A Field Service Technician is an individual with great hand dexterity and an eye for quality and attention to detail. Work with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential. The goal is to ensure the effective installation of secondary spill containment devices while traveling around the United States. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Read and understand project drawings to perform installation of spill containment material and accessories. Must be able to travel within the United States and be on the road for multiple weeks at a time to various customer job sites. Use hand and power tools required to perform the job but not limited to; tape measures, utility knives, sprayer, etc. Work with materials such as vinyl, foam, aluminum, steel and polymer. Ability to complete inspections and conduct repairs if needed. Communicate project progress, site conditions, equipment problems, etc to your Cew Lead. Must be able to complete rigorous safety training to completion that is on-going and on an annual basis (example: Respiratory Training, Forklift Certification, Confined Space, OSHA 10, etc). Complete paperwork of timesheets, expense reports, and additional site installation reports.
Requirements:
Background experience of spray containment preferred but not necessary. Have a great attitude and willing to grow with the company. Diligently follow safe work practices for yourself and team members at all times. Must be able to work overtime. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision Must be able to work in a flexible team traveling environment (company covers costs of travel). Must have valid drivers license with ability to gain Class A drivers license. Ability to be on the road working for 3 to 6 weeks or more weeks at a time.
Working Conditions:
Able to lift and carry 50 lbs to waist and over head Ability to use ladders at least 10 feet off the ground. Ability to bend, twist, squat, stand and walk up to 10 hours per day. Wear all required PPE including: FR Clothing, knee pads, cut resistant gloves, hearing protection (as required) and safety glasses (as required), steel-toed shoes Good physical condition and endurance. This position is an outdoor position with the ability to work in high heat and very cold conditions. Travel requirements are 99%.
