POSITION SUMMARY
Be the calm after the storm. The Lead Water Mitigation Technician is a hybrid production, sales, and quality control role responsible for driving job-level profitability, executing a structured sales process, managing field technicians, and ensuring full documentation compliance from first contact through job completion. This person thinks for the team, communicates for the team, and is accountable for the financial outcome of every water, fire, and mold mitigation job they lead.

OBJECTIVES 1.
Sales Execution — Own the sales process from initial loss contact through signed authorization. Follow the written sales process without deviation. No ad-libbing, no skipped steps, no missed opportunities to build rapport and close scope. 2. Job Profitability — Target 80% gross profit margin on every water mitigation job led. Margin performance above 80% is eligible for team incentive split, with the lead tech earning the largest portion as the accountable party. 3. Property Stabilization — Rapidly assess and mitigate damage to prevent further loss, including secondary mold growth and structural failure. 4. Documentation Compliance — Document each loss in Encircle following best practices and SOPs 5. Standards Compliance — Ensure all work strictly adheres to
IICRC S500
(Water), S520 (Mold), and S700 (Fire/Smoke) standards. 6. Technician Oversight — Direct and manage assigned field technicians including daily task assignment, checklist accountability, pace management, and quality review. 7. Customer Communication — Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners, insurance adjusters, and property managers throughout the job. Provide proactive updates and represent the company with professionalism and confidence. 8. Authorizations & Forms — Obtain work authorizations, certificates of completion, change orders, stop-work orders, purchase orders, and insurance carrier paperwork at every stage of the job. 9. Equipment & Vehicle Accountability — Manage equipment in Intuitive Mobile, maintain mitigation equipment in clean and working order, and account for all tools and stocked vehicles at all times. 10. Workspace Standards — Clean the workspace before leaving every job site, dispose of jobsite and office trash, and maintain a clean warehouse, work station, and offices. 11. Continuous Development — Maintain IICRC certifications (WRT, AMRT, ASD required; FSRT highly preferred), attend daily sales training and team meetings, and follow all published SOPs in the company drive and Trainual. 12. Manager Accountability — Prepare, submit forms, and attend bi-weekly 1-on-1 meetings with the Mitigation Manager.

Critical thinker — able to make fast, expert decisions in high-pressure emergency environments. 9. Computer and software savvy with strong understanding of mobile apps (Encircle, Xactimate, Intuitive Mobile, Restoration Manager). 10. Technical mastery — advanced knowledge of psychrometry, moisture detection tools, water damage categories and classes, and specialized mitigation equipment including industrial dehumidifiers and air scrubbers. 11. Team leadership — assigns daily tasks clearly, checks in at defined intervals, and provides direct, calm feedback when techs miss steps or fall behind pace. Coaches without micromanaging. 12. Financial awareness — understands job cost structure, monitors labor hours and equipment usage against estimated scope, and escalates scope changes that affect profitability before doing the work. 13. Insurance savvy — familiar with insurance claim processes and the detailed documentation required for successful billing.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 1.
2+ years hands-on water damage restoration experience. 2.
IICRC Certifications:
WRT, AMRT, and ASD required at hire. FSRT (Fire & Smoke) highly preferred. 3. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. 4. Proficient with mobile job management and documentation tools. Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 1.
Stamina to work in full PPE, including respirators and Tyvek suits. 2. Ability to lift 75+ lbs repeatedly. 3. Ability to work in confined spaces such as crawlspaces and attics. 4. Ability to stand, kneel, climb, and operate restoration equipment for extended shifts. 5. Ability to respond to emergency calls 24/7 in adverse conditions.
KEY PERFORMANCE METRICS
Gross Profit Margin Onsite Arrival Time Speed of response for emergency calls. Documentation Integrity Callback / Warranty Rate Quality issues on completed jobs.
COMPENSATION FRAMEWORK 1.
Base pay structured to reflect hybrid sales and production responsibilities. 2. Margin incentive pool activated on jobs exceeding 80% gross profit. 3. Lead tech receives the largest share of the incentive split. Remaining split distributed among technicians who worked the job. 4.
