Big Shoulders Restoration is seeking a Mitigation Team Lead to direct field operations, mentor technicians, and enforce uncompromising standards across all water, mold, and fire restoration projects in Chicago. As we expand our service lines, the Mitigation Team Lead will serve as a key architect of our field organization. The Role The Mitigation Team Lead is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of all mitigation technicians and crews .

Key Responsibilities Team Leadership:

Directly supervise, coach, and deploy technicians based on workload and skill level; conduct daily huddles, drive accountability, and support hiring and development.

Field Operations:

Oversee water mitigation, demolition, containment, structural drying, and cleaning from initial call through project completion, stepping in on-site as needed.

Quality & Documentation:

Ensure rigorous tracking of moisture readings, equipment placement, photos, and customer authorizations prior to job sign-off.

Safety & Compliance:

Enforce jobsite hazard assessments, strict PPE usage, containment protocols, and immediate incident reporting.

Customer Experience:

Serve as the primary field contact, ensuring clear customer communication, property protection, and prompt resolution of jobsite concerns.

Equipment Management:

Maintain accountability, cleanliness, and readiness for all drying equipment, fleet vehicles, meters, and consumables. Performance Expectations Success in this role is evaluated by response times, documentation accuracy, customer satisfaction, job gross margins, drying efficiency, and crew retention.

Qualifications Required:

Professional experience in water mitigation, restoration, construction, or a closely related field Proven experience leading field crews in water mitigation, restoration, or construction. Strong technical knowledge of water extraction, structural drying equipment, moisture monitoring, and containment. Valid driver's license, clean driving record, ability to lift 50+ lbs, and availability for on-call emergency response.
