POSITION PURPOSE
Repair and maintenance of testing equipment and facilities for vehicle emission testing stations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform routine diagnostics, preventive maintenance and repair of vehicle OBD analyzers, computers, PC peripherals, and other lane systems following set schedules and procedures. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on buildings and fixtures as assigned and complete all required documentation. Assist in maintenance and repair of other company facility and electronic systems such as lighting, doors, alarm, minor plumbing, telephone and computer peripheral systems. Report on assigned work and assist in the completion of records, reports and other documents. Troubleshoot equipment failures and analyze appropriate documents to determine cause of malfunctions in test and facility equipment. Interface with subcontractor representatives in repair and maintenance of equipment. Provide support to Illinois Environmental Protection Agency audit teams as needed. Perform other tasks as required by the Technical Support Manager.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Associate's Degree or certificate in electronics, building maintenance, electrical controls, HVAC, industrial plant maintenance or equivalent work experience. Must be familiar with test equipment, hand and power tools. Working knowledge of HVAC equipment and mechanical assemblies a plus. Good driving record and valid Illinois driver's license.
Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
General building maintenance experience and knowledge including electrical systems, lighting systems, overhead door maintenance, and basic plumbing skills including faucet and toilet repair. Knowledge of computers and peripherals, such as printers, barcode scanners, cameras, etc. Basic understating of Microsoft Windows and Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel and Word. Mechanical inclination and manual dexterity to perform tasks with small hand and power tools. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to stoop, bend, reach and climb. Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
