This position performs emergency mitigation services, documents job progress, communicates with customers, and ensures all work is completed in accordance with company standards, IICRC guidelines, and safety regulations. The ideal candidate is dependable, customer-focused, and able to work efficiently in fast-paced emergency situations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Respond to emergency service calls, including afterhours and oncall assignments. Perform water extraction, structural drying, demolition, and moisture mapping. Set up and monitor drying equipment, including air movers, dehumidifiers, and HEPA air scrubbers. Conduct moisture inspections using moisture meters, thermal imaging cameras, and hygrometers. Remove damaged building materials following IICRC standards and company procedures. Install containment barriers and maintain clean, organized work areas. Perform mold remediation and fire/smoke mitigation when assigned. Complete daily job documentation, including photographs, notes, moisture readings, and equipment logs using company software. Communicate professionally with homeowners, tenants, insurance adjusters, and property managers. Load, unload, clean, and maintain company vehicles and equipment. Follow OSHA safety standards, PPE requirements, and company safety policies. Participate in regular training to maintain industry knowledge and certifications. Represent the company professionally while delivering exceptional customer service.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Restoration industry experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening. IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification preferred, But willing to place the right candidate in a WRT class. Strong communication and customer service skills. Basic computer and smartphone proficiency. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Ability to push and pull heavy drying equipment. Climb ladders, work in confined spaces, crawlspaces, and attics. Stand, kneel, bend, squat, and walk for extended periods. Work in varying weather conditions and environments. Wear required PPE, including respirators, gloves, hard hats, and protective suits.
Work Schedule:
Fulltime position. Typical hours are 8:00 AM 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Must participate in an oncall rotation for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Overtime is expected during emergency response situations.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of IICRC S500 and S520 standards. Experience using moisture detection equipment. Mechanical aptitude and problemsolving skills. Strong attention to detail.
