Travel Field Service Technician Job Description We are seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to install fall protection systems at customer facilities and construction sites across the country. In this role, you work at heights, operate a variety of tools and equipment, interpret installation drawings, and solve field challenges while ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently. This position is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy physical, hands-on work, take pride in safety, and are open to frequent travel. Responsibilities Install fall protection systems at customer facilities and construction sites nationwide in accordance with installation drawings and instructions. Work safely at heights, following all safety procedures and using company-provided safety gear at all times. Operate hand and power tools, construction equipment, and other installation tools to complete projects efficiently. Read and interpret measurements, blueprints, drawings, and installation instructions to ensure precise and compliant installations. Troubleshoot and solve field challenges, adapting to unique job site conditions and resolving issues as they arise. Perform mechanical assembly, repair, and adjustments on fall protection systems and related components. Collaborate with team members on-site to coordinate tasks, maintain clear communication, and deliver high-quality work. Conduct thorough checks of installed systems to confirm proper operation, safety, and compliance with applicable standards. Work outdoors and indoors in varying weather and site conditions while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality. Travel extensively to job sites across the United States, representing the company professionally and reliably. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, organized, and safe condition. Demonstrate strong work ethic and reliability by meeting project timelines and consistently following company procedures. Essential Skills Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and comfort with hands-on, trade-oriented work. Experience using hand and power tools for mechanical assembly, repair, and construction tasks. Ability to read and interpret measurements, blueprints, drawings, and installation instructions accurately. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address field challenges and installation issues. Effective communication and teamwork skills for coordinating work with colleagues and customers on-site. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing, and working for extended periods. Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions and in diverse job site environments. Comfort working at heights and strictly following all safety procedures and guidelines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background in construction, field service, or related mechanical trades. Experience with installation, assembly, and repair of mechanical or structural systems. Familiarity with reading and working from technical drawings and blueprints. Interest in learning specialized fall protection systems and OSHA compliance requirements. The home shop is located in Eden Prairie and provides a clean, well-maintained space for staging, preparation, and equipment. You use a variety of hand and power tools and installation equipment, and you travel regularly to different regions, with all major travel arrangements covered by the company. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $58000.00 - $72000.00/yr.
