We restore the rare Mercedes-Benz 250GD "Wolf," the soft top Gelandewagen built for the German military. Every truck is stripped to the bare frame and rebuilt in house, roughly 2,500 hours of work across about six months. Some of them still have bullet holes to patch. A big part of what makes these builds different is the powertrain. We pull the original diesel and put modern GM LS family V8 power in its place, in a chassis that was never designed to take it. That is the work we are hiring for. Our shop is in Frenchtown, New Jersey, in Hunterdon County on the Delaware River. What You Will Be Doing

• Removing original diesel drivetrains and installing GM LS family V8s, start to finish
• Fabricating and modifying motor mounts, crossmembers, driveshafts, and exhaust routing
• Solving the packaging problems: cooling, fuel delivery, accessory drive, and steering clearance in a tight bay
• Harness integration, ECU setup, sensors, and gauge signals
• Transmission, transfer case, clutch or flexplate, and driveline angle work
• Diagnosing, tuning, and sorting each truck through its 400 mile road test before delivery Who We Are Looking For You do not need a dealership resume. We care about what you have actually built. If you are the person whose weekends disappear into a swap in your own garage, this is the job where that turns into a paycheck.
• Real hands on engine swap experience, professional or personal. If you have dropped an LS into something that never came with one, lead with that.
• Fabrication skill: MIG welding, cutting, grinding, and measuring before you cut
• Able to read a wiring diagram and chase down an electrical problem without guessing
• Your own hand tools. We supply the lifts, the press, the welders, and the heavy equipment.
• Respect for the vehicle. These are 35 year old military trucks with history in the sheet metal, and they go to owners who know every panel.
• Reliable transportation to Frenchtown and the ability to work on site five days a week Bonus Points
• Mercedes diesel background (OM616, OM617, OM602)
• Standalone EFI experience: Holley Terminator, FiTech, MegaSquirt, or similar
• Manual transmission and transfer case rebuilds
• Time in a restoration, hot rod, off road, or race shop
• Welding or fabrication certification
• 4x4 suspension, axle, and gear work About The Commute We are looking for someone within about 45 to 60 minutes of Frenchtown, which covers Flemington, Clinton, Washington, Hackettstown, Phillipsburg, Somerville, Whitehouse Station, and Lambertville, and across the bridge into Easton, Bethlehem, Quakertown, Doylestown, and New Hope.
