Job Description

SES (Steel Equipment Specialists) is a leading player in the steel equipment manufacturing and engineering industry, committed to delivering top-quality products and services to our clients. With a strong dedication to innovation, design, and commissioning, we are seeking a full-time hands-on Field Service Technician to join our growing team in
Alliance, OhioKey Job Responsibilities:
Oversee the installation and commissioning of SES-manufactured equipment at customer facilities across the United States. Collaborate closely with customers during the installation and startup phases to ensure smooth operations. Provide troubleshooting support and address any field inquiries that may arise. Conduct inspections of mechanical and electrical systems on SES equipment. Work independently or as part of a team to identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues during installations. Liaise with the engineering department for effective communication and problem-solving. Maintain accurate documentation of daily field activities, hours worked, and services provided using a computer. When not engaged in installations, contribute as an assembler in one of the SES assembly shops located in Alliance.
Essential Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Proficient in reading blueprints. Basic organizational skills, combined with effective communication and problem-solving capabilities. Solid knowledge and experience in troubleshooting mechanical components. Understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, fabrication, and assembly. Comfort with computers and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. Willingness to travel and work at customer sites for 50%-75% of the year, including potential overnight stays. Ability to be away from home for extended periods (up to 3 weeks at a time), with 1 week back at the SES shop in between assignments. Previous experience in steel or aluminum mills is a plus. Familiarity with equipment rigging for machine installations is advantageous. Experience with survey equipment for machine alignment and installation is a plus. Knowledge of hydraulic circuits is beneficial. Understanding of industrial electrical hardware and software is a plus. Welding skills are advantageous. CAD experience is a bonus.
