Work Hours:
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (with some flexibility) About the Role We are seeking a hands-on, mechanically inclined Service Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and installation of machining centers. This is a dynamic position requiring both technical skills and office-based responsibilities. You will work closely with a small team of local staff and Japanese expatriates, providing support in field operations, client communication, and reporting. Training will be provided, including a one-month program in Japan following initial OJT in the U.S. Key Responsibilities Perform service and maintenance of machining centers Support equipment installation and commissioning Replace and exchange old mechanical and electrical parts Communicate with engineers and customers (via email and phone) Prepare service reports and documentation Travel for business both domestically and internationally (up to 3-4 trips per year, typically 1 week each) Preferred Qualifications Background in electronics with mechanical aptitude Hands-on machining experience Familiarity with FANUC controls Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel by car Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and parts Business travel experience (within U.S. and possibly to Japan, Mexico, Canada) Strong organizational and communication skills Physical fitness to handle onsite work and heavy components Comfortable working in a flexible, small team environment Nice to Have Prior experience in maintenance of industrial machinery Understanding of Japanese culture or work environments Previous experience as a machine operator or technician
