Join our dynamic team as a Field Service Technician and play a vital role in delivering industry-leading in-line measurement and control solutions across a range of high-tech manufacturing industries. Sensor technologies include infrared, laser, X-ray, microwave, beta, and white light. In this role, you will manage system start-ups, provide technical support, conduct operator training, assist with data communications with PLCs and plant historians, and perform on-site and remote troubleshooting/repairs. The focus of the position is to assist our customers in reducing cost to manufacture, improving process control, and ensuring that their products fully meet their fitness-for-use quality requirements. Responsibilities:
Manage new system start-ups, including optimizing system setup specific to customer applications, validating measurement results, and providing operator training. Perform comprehensive diagnostics and troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and measurement sensors using schematics, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments. Safely operate field service tools with high-voltage systems. Read electrical blueprints and schematics to identify issues within complex electrical systems; perform electrical diagnostics and repairs with precision. Troubleshoot mechanical drive assemblies, sensors, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and industrial control panels to restore optimal functionality. Provide exceptional remote and on-site customer service by communicating clearly with clients about technical issues, repair timelines, and maintenance recommendations. Support engineering troubleshooting efforts by analyzing system failures and recommending improvements for reliability and efficiency. Maintain detailed records of all service activities, parts used, and system modifications. Ability to work independently and self-manage.
Experience:
Proven experience working in manufacturing facilities and industrial environments, with hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance experience involving high-voltage systems. Skilled in reading schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex equipment issues. Demonstrated ability to perform mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance tasks efficiently. Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical troubleshooting techniques, and engineering diagnostic methods.
