Field Service Technician

Job Description

Aegis is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our client's organization in Germantown WI. There will be onsite training for the position and then the travel will be weekly or biweekly around the country. The company offers per diem, full travel paid for, and additional compensation for overtime worked! The ideal candidate has the following skills and experience: Must have: 3+ years in a service technician, mechanic, or electrical-focused role. Industry background in machining, packaging equipment, shrink wrap machines, or related machinery.
  • Electrical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC circuits and power distribution (120-480V).
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control systems. Hands-on experience with motor controls, fuse boxes, circuit breakers, breakers, transformers, and panel boards. Skilled with sensors and actuators, troubleshooting inputs/outputs, and verifying proper signal flow to control systems. Proficient in diagnosing electrical faults, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
  • Mechanical experience:
  • Experienced with bearings, gears, chains, boilers, and belts Knowledge of conveyors, servo drives, pneumatics, and hydraulics Strong troubleshooting skills including root cause analysis, proactive maintenance, and preventive maintenance.
  • Familiar with PMP (Planned Maintenance Program) and NPM (Non-Planned Maintenance) checks, including verifying signals from sensors, switches, and drives into machine control systems.
Strong communication skills; able to interface effectively with customers, engineers, and leadership. Flexible team player, willing to wear multiple hats and contribute wherever needed.
Travel-ready:
willing to travel up to 90% of the time.
Nice to have:
Technical schooling, education, or degree. FAT/SAT experience (Factory and site acceptance testing) Additional experience with training of other technicians or writing training plans for companies.
