Job Description
Forklift Hunter LLC is actively hiring an experienced Forklift & Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic to support shop repairs, equipment refurbishment, and field service across Baldwin County and the Gulf Coast. Pay is based on experience. This is a hands-on position for someone experienced in diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and refurbishing forklifts and industrial equipment. We are looking for someone who can contribute in the shop from mechanical repairs and equipment preparation through getting forklifts ready for rental, sale, or delivery.
What You'll Be Working On:
- Electric forklifts
- LP, gas, and diesel forklifts
- Pneumatic tire equipment
- Aerial lifts, including JLG and similar equipment
- Warehouse equipment and pallet jacks
- Used equipment being serviced and refurbished for resale or rental
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems
- Perform forklift and equipment repairs and maintenance
- Complete shop service and occasional field repairs
- Prepare and refurbish used forklifts and equipment
- Assist with cleaning, sanding, masking, preparation, and equipment painting/refinishing
- Inspect and prepare rental and sales equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and productive shop
- Communicate clearly with customers and other team members
- Maintain accurate service records
Experience We're Looking For:
- Previous forklift, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, diesel, automotive, or related mechanical experience
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability
- Electrical troubleshooting experience is preferred
- Forklift repair experience is strongly preferred
- Equipment painting, bodywork, surface preparation, or refinishing experience is a plus
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- Ability to work independently and complete jobs correctly
- Valid driver's license
- Dependable, hands-on, and takes pride in quality work
